DEMOS - towards a democratic, user-friendly application

DEMOS stands for Delphi Mediation Online System. DEMOS is a web-based platform enabling fruitful and constructive debate between citizens and politicians with the intention of facilitating and encouraging "online-democracy".
DEMOS is an international Research & Development project funded by the European Commission (IST-1999-20530).

Nov. 4 - Dec. 2, 2002: The City of Hamburg used the DEMOS system for a debate about the future development of the city. Ole von Beust, the First Mayor of Hamburg, was impressed: "I have never seen such a creative discussion that generated so many interesting ideas. "
